Happy Birthday Brody!

Our Brody man turned 4 yesterday. It was such a fun day and we had a great party with lots of friends and family. The day started off with Brody waking up (way too early) and coming into our room talking about how excited he was that it was his birthday. He then started to talk about cake and how he really, really likes chocolate cake. After talking him in to sleeping a little bit longer by Mom, we all got up and went down stairs so he could open presents. Brandon and I both were having so much fun just watching him be so excited. I guess now that he's 4 he understands more of what birthdays are. It's fun having older kids! After that we pretty much had a normal day. We played a little, ate lunch, Jake had his nap, and then we cleaned up for the party. We invited some friends from Brody's church class, preschool, neighborhood friends, and then some family of course. The first hour we played in the backyard with the bounce house and other games, and then we came inside for cake, ice cream, and presents. Brody and his friends really had a fun time. Brody loved his chocolate helicopter cake, the many, many balloons that Dad brought home, and could not open his presents fast enough. Birthday parties are a lot of work, but I'm so glad we did it. It was fun to have friends and family here to celebrate this special day with us. Happy birthday, Brody! We love you buddy and we're so happy you're in our family.
