California Trip

After a total of about 22 hours of driving, double-decker bus tours, walking the downtown San Francisco streets, Ghirardelli chocolate, yummy sourdough bread and chowder, California traffic, beautiful Lake Tahoe, the board walk in Santa Cruz, sun burns, the amazing Pebble Beach golf course, Monterrey Bay aquarium, sunsets on the beach, flying kites, and much more, we are finally home. I realized the harsh reality of traveling with a baby very quickly and that sometimes it feels like work when you are supposed to be on vacation, but in the end it was all worth it. I'm surprised we even made it out the door after practically packing the whole house. :) It was Brody's first time really traveling and with the exception of a couple sleepless nights he did very well. He probably did better than I did. I seem to stress out way too much sometimes worrying about the little guy, welcome to motherhood I guess. It was so fun to see and hang with my family and to have some change from the usual every day grind.

Lake Tahoe is beautiful! We drove through it on our way to San Fran so it was a quick trip but we took enough time to stop and take some pics.

San Francisco was awesome, but very cold. We took a double-decker bus over the Golden Gate Bridge and we thought it would be fun to sit on the top, that was a good idea until we froze. It didn't seem to bother Brody as he fell asleep on the way over the bridge. On the way back we were smarter and sat on the bottom with the heaters.

Monterey, California baby! We saw the most beautiful beaches and landscapes here. We stayed in a resort right on the beach and had only about a 10 min drive to Cannery Row and the shops downtown. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and took the scenic 17 mile drive to Pebble Beach. I can see why California is a popular place to live, I would love to live there. Brody took his first dip in a swimming pool here and loved it...until he got out.

Hey Stacey! It's me Jeanna from work. San Fran is my hometown. I am from San Jose actually but all the places you saw and the things you did remind me of my favorite place in the whole world. Glad you liked it as much as I do. If you didn't know, Sarah's husband Ryan is my cousin, so I have stayed at his gma's house in Pebble, and it is sweet. Such a beautiful place.

Catch you online.
