Campfires

One of my favorite things to do in life includes building a campfire and roasting marshmallows. Once a year growing up my family would rent a house on the beach in Cannon Beach, Oregon, and this is what I would look forward to most. I don't just like the campfire itself, but the things that come with it are especially my favorite. First, of course, I love the yummy s'mores that come with a campfire, the feel and look of a warm fire, the setting of nature and the sky with it's bright stars and moon, and snuggling up with family to get warm. The only part I complain about is when we get home and everything reeks of campfire smoke. Not a fan!

This trip to the mountains was especially fun because we went to the place where Brandon and I first met, 8 years ago. We both couldn't believe it had been that long, but I guess time flies when your having fun!

The boys loved camping and exploring the woods, and of course getting completely dirty. Jake is still a little too young and made us nervous around the fire, but it was still worth the work and worry. Brandon made a great fire and we roasted hot dogs and mallows. I think there will be many more campfires and camping in the Robins' future.
