The Dirty Dash

I first heard about the Dirty Dash from my good friend, Nichole, and then my sister called and said she heard about it and wanted to fly in from Seattle and run it with me. I said yes, but I knew I wasn't quite ready for a 5K. After thinking about it, I thought why not start training and have some fun in the mud with my sis. So I trained a little and did it, and I had a blast! I got more excited when I actually got to the race and saw the course. The course was made of many obstacles, including bales of hay, walls to climb over, tunnels, a small river, tons of mud and mud puddles, big sprinklers spraying tons of water, and at the end a huge slip 'n slide and mud pit. A little crazy, right? This was probably the most fun I have ever had on a run. My sister had a great idea of bringing a disposable camera with us on the run to take some pictures. We got a little creative in our picture taking while running, and by the end we had some very muddy pictures of ourselves in the mud. This was so much fun and I'm so glad we ran in this crazy dirty race! I think we might just have to do this again next year.
